Tree

So, now that I'm becoming more confident in Max, I have started to create my tree. The problem is becoming trying to keep it low poly. I know I can just make planes at the top because the player won't really see it, but it feels like I'm cheating. I'm sure there are a couple edge loops I can get rid of, and the ones at top that you see are where I'm thinking of extruding. Yet, if I use the planes then I can get ride of these loops. I'm at 104 polys here, and I'm sure I'm going over budget--and for having a lot of trees in my scene I really need to get this down.
